FC 27 Heritage turns Season 2 into a FUT nostalgia track

EA SPORTS FC 27 Ultimate Team has made FC Heritage the theme of Season 2, with FIFAUTeam reporting that the campaign began on 22 October 2026 at 08:00 UTC and is set to run until 3 December 2026 at 08:00 UTC.

The event leans heavily on nostalgia. FIFAUTeam describes FC Heritage as a season-long celebration of community favourites, squad staples and iconic campaigns that have shaped Ultimate Team over the years. The concept borrows from Hall of FUT, with FC Heritage Player Items designed to recognise active players tied to memorable FUT cards and moments, including current stars who could still build their case for that kind of status.

Season 2 uses nostalgia as its main theme

FC Heritage is not being treated like a standard pack promo. Instead, it is the central idea behind Season 2 itself, which means the event is spread across the systems players already use during a season rather than rolled out as a separate card drop.

FIFAUTeam says FC Heritage Player Items and other themed rewards can be earned through the Season Pass, Live Events and more, while the FAQ attached to the article lists Season Pass progression, Objectives, Squad Building Challenges and the Daily Knockout Tournament as ways to get them. The same source also mentions the FC Heritage Circuit, which rewards FC Heritage Player Items, Coins and untradeable Packs.

The most important restriction is simple: these items are not in packs. FIFAUTeam states that FC Heritage Player Items are earned through specific Ultimate Team content, not through pack openings, which makes the campaign feel closer to a seasonal reward route than a typical promo with a transfer-market ripple effect.

FIFAUTeam lists 20 named FC Heritage items

FIFAUTeam says Season 2 includes up to 16 FC Heritage Player Items across the Standard and Premium Season Ladders, with further players available through other themed content. In the same article, the outlet also surfaces a larger set of named items split between Seasons and Squad Building Challenges and Objectives.

  • Squad Building Challenges and Objectives: Jeremiah St. Juste (84), Olga Carmona (85), Axel Witsel (84), Alexis Sánchez (85)
  • Seasons: David de Gea (84), Alphonse Areola (84), Kenny Lala (84), Danny da Costa (84), Ferland Mendy (85), Allan (84), Nabil Fekir (85), Lorenzo Insigne (84), Silas Katompa Mvumpa (85), Athenea del Castillo (85), Mallory Swanson (86), Fridolina Rolfö (85), Timo Werner (84), Allan Saint-Maximin (85), Jule Brand (84), Marcus Rashford (86)

Taken together, those named players span both men’s and women’s football and range from 84 to 86 overall. That spread suggests EA SPORTS is using familiar names rather than chasing only the very highest ratings, with the emphasis placed on players who have already become favourite pieces for different Ultimate Team eras.

Among the headline names are Marcus Rashford and Mallory Swanson at 86, plus Fridolina Rolfö, Ferland Mendy, Nabil Fekir, Allan Saint-Maximin, Jule Brand, Athenea del Castillo and Silas Katompa Mvumpa. At the lower end, FC Heritage also includes several 84-rated items such as David de Gea, Alphonse Areola, Kenny Lala, Danny da Costa, Lorenzo Insigne, Timo Werner and Axel Witsel.

Pack openings are out, seasonal progression is in

The article’s FAQ makes the structure even clearer. FC Heritage Player Items are available through Season Pass progression, Live Events, Objectives, Squad Building Challenges and the Daily Knockout Tournament, with no pack availability and no live upgrade path announced for the cards.

“FC Heritage is the theme of Season 2 in FC 27 Ultimate Team.”

“FC Heritage Player Items are not available in packs.”

“No live upgrade path has been announced for FC Heritage Player Items.”

FIFAUTeam’s wording frames the event as a tribute to the mode’s history rather than a one-off promotion. The cards are meant to celebrate players and moments that helped define Ultimate Team culture, and the route to earning them runs through the season structure already in place for FC 27.

The FC Heritage Circuit adds another reward route

Alongside the regular Season Pass and objectives path, FIFAUTeam says the FC Heritage Circuit is part of the reward pool. That mode offers FC Heritage Player Items, Coins and untradeable Packs, giving Season 2 an additional layer beyond the standard ladder progression.

Because the event is tied to Season 2, the countdown is already fixed around the 3 December 2026 end date. Until then, FC 27 players will be able to work through the themed content rather than chase the items through packs, with the campaign positioned as a season-long nod to some of Ultimate Team’s most familiar names and moments.

Calling this nostalgia feels like a nice coat of paint over another ladder grind. If the cards are good, fine, but most of us just want usable players, not museum pieces.

museum pieces that cost your weekend league sanity, you mean 🙂

Same, because at least that sounds like play-now rewards instead of opening 40 packs and praying. Seasonal routes are way better when the game respects your time.

Rashford and Mallory Swanson at 86 is the only part that really pops. EA loves a nostalgia theme but still sneaks in cards people will actually chase.
