EA SPORTS FC 27 Ultimate Team opens Team of the Year voting hub

EA SPORTS FC 27 Ultimate Team opens Team of the Year voting hub

EA SPORTS FC 27 Ultimate Team’s Team of the Year vote is open through a FIFAUTeam article, with community polling live for goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, forwards, plus the 12th Man and 12th Woman spots. FIFAUTeam says the final TOTY is decided through a mix of EA’s selections and community voting, while the official nominee lists have not been announced yet.

The voting page is set up as a daily return visit. FIFAUTeam says readers can cast votes once per day and are encouraged to come back regularly as the shortlist process develops. The article also frames the vote around the FIFPro Men’s World 11 nominees, even though the full official lists are still pending.

How the FC 27 TOTY vote is broken up

Rather than one all-in vote for an entire starting XI, FIFAUTeam splits the process into separate position groups. Goalkeepers have their own section, defenders have another, and midfielders and forwards are handled in their own polls as well. The 12th Man and 12th Woman are listed separately too, with each section using its own shortlist and vote limit.

According to FIFAUTeam, EA Sports has already chosen the shortlist sizes based on real-world performances from the previous year. There are seven goalkeepers in the goalkeeper pool, 20 defenders, 35 midfielders and 27 forwards. The final team will then be narrowed to one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards.

The same page also explains that the 12th Man and 12th Woman are fan-favourite slots. Those picks sit outside the main positional lineup and give the community another say in the final Team of the Year presentation.

For readers tracking the full seasonal rollout, this voting hub fits into the wider TOTY schedule FIFAUTeam has already mapped out in its earlier Team of the Year dates and pack phases guide.

What FIFAUTeam says about the shortlist sizes

  • Goalkeepers: 7 nominees, 1 final TOTY place
  • Defenders: 20 nominees, up to 4 votes, 4 final TOTY places
  • Midfielders: 35 nominees, up to 3 votes, 3 final TOTY places
  • Forwards: 27 nominees, up to 3 votes, 3 final TOTY places
  • 12th Man: 3 male players, 1 final place
  • 12th Woman: 3 female players, 1 final place

FIFAUTeam also says the official nominee list will be revealed soon. Until then, the post serves as the live voting hub, with embedded polls for each category and reminders that the ballot can be updated once per day.

Last year’s voting gives an early benchmark

FIFAUTeam includes last year’s results alongside the new voting sections. In goal, Gianluigi Donnarumma led with 63%, followed by Thibaut Courtois on 15%, David Raya on 8%, Alisson Becker on 6%, Manuel Neuer on 3%, Mile Svilar on 2% and Jan Oblak on 2%.

At the back, Nuno Mendes topped the defenders’ vote with 21%. Virgil van Dijk followed on 12%, with Willian Pacho on 11%, William Saliba on 10%, Jules Koundé on 9%, Gabriel Magalhães and Marquinhos on 7% each, Dean Huijsen on 4%, Denzel Dumfries on 3% and Marc Cucurella on 2%.

Midfield voting was led by Vitinha on 19%, ahead of Pedri on 14%. Lamine Yamal and Raphinha both reached 12%, while João Neves and Jude Bellingham finished on 6%. Declan Rice, Michael Olise, Scott McTominay and Moisés Caicedo were all on 3%.

Up front, Ousmane Dembélé took the top spot with 28%, with Kylian Mbappé second on 22% and Erling Haaland third on 7%. Cristiano Ronaldo finished on 6%, Harry Kane on 5%, and Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski and Viktor Gyökeres all on 3%. Désiré Doué and Lautaro Martínez each ended on 2%.

The fan-favourite picks from the previous cycle

The 12th Man section was led by Raphinha on 59%, with Lamine Yamal on 26% and Harry Kane on 15%. FIFAUTeam says the 12th Woman vote was topped by Caroline Graham Hansen on 55%, followed by Patri Guijarro on 33% and Kadidiatou Diani on 12%.

Those results give the new FC 27 vote a useful reference point, especially since the current nominees have not yet been officially revealed. The structure, though, is already clear: daily voting, separate position pools and a final selection that mixes EA’s shortlist with community input.

from how they split it, nah, 12th Man and Woman are separate fan-favourite spots. the main XI is still its own thing, just with EA’s shortlist mixed in.

yeah, the 12th spots are separate. the main TOTY still gets built from the position polls and EA’s shortlist.
