Football Manager 27 minor update 1 rolls out with UEFA registration fixes
Sports Interactive has started rolling out Football Manager 27 Minor Update 1 across all platforms supporting the Free Play Launch Preview. In a post by Kyle Brown on 2 November 2026, the studio said the patch tackles a small set of issues it identified, solved and verified over the weekend.
The update is live now for the preview build and adds one interface tweak alongside fixes tied to UEFA club competition registration and a related Save Game problem. Sports Interactive also used the post to outline the next two updates planned for FM27: one for the game’s full launch on 10 November, and a first post-launch update that will draw on player reports as well as internal data.
Advanced Setup gets a clickable scroll bar
The most visible change in Minor Update 1 is a clickable scroll bar on the Advanced Setup screen. Sports Interactive says it is there to help players choose clubs at the bottom of a league list, which should make long setup menus easier to work through.
It is a small adjustment, but it targets a specific pain point in one of Football Manager’s busier screens. Advanced Setup often asks players to sort through large league lists before starting a save, so the new scroll bar should reduce some of the friction when picking from the lower end of those lists.
The rest of the patch stays focused on fixes rather than gameplay tuning. Sports Interactive did not add new modes, licensing changes or broader balance changes in this rollout.
UEFA club registration bug fixed
Two of the fixes address the same underlying issue in UEFA club competitions. Sports Interactive said squad registration messages could sometimes fail to appear, which could leave senior players unregistered.
The studio also fixed the knock-on problem that followed from that bug. If players ran into the missing registration message issue, the Save Game option could stop being selectable.
Those are the key corrections in the patch, and they point to a bug that was affecting both match preparation and the ability to continue a save cleanly. Sports Interactive described the issues as ones the team had already been able to identify, solve and verify.
What Sports Interactive says is next
Sports Interactive said another FM27 update is planned to support the full launch on 10 November, with further optimisations included. The post did not spell out the full contents of that build, but it made clear that more work is lined up before release.
The developer also said the first post-launch update will be shaped by more player reports. One area of focus is the 3D match engine, where the team is combining internal data with player feedback on defensive behaviour, pressing, chance creation and other areas to decide what should change.
That puts gameplay feedback at the centre of the next support phase rather than just UI fixes or registration issues. The studio’s wording suggests the team is already sorting reported problems into the ones that can be addressed quickly and the ones that may need deeper work after launch.
“One area of focus here is the 3D match engine”
“We’ll keep you posted on all of this on the way to FM27’s official launch and beyond.”
“Please continue to do this if you experience anything you’d like the team to investigate.”
Sports Interactive thanked players for using the bug reporting system and asked them to keep doing so if they spot anything that needs investigation. That follows the recent Free Play Launch Preview on PC and Mac, which has given the studio another stream of reports to work from before the full release.
With Minor Update 1 out now and another patch already planned for launch day, FM27’s early support cycle is taking shape around reported bugs, interface cleanup and match engine feedback. The next changes are likely to arrive first with the full launch build, then in the first post-launch update that Sports Interactive says will go deeper into how matches are played.
