EA SPORTS FC 27 title update v1.1 trims FUT pack reveals and adds Career changes

EA SPORTS FC 27 title update v1.1 trims FUT pack reveals and adds Career changes

EA Sports has detailed EA SPORTS FC 27 Title Update v1.1 ahead of its 27 October release, with changes across Career, Football Ultimate Team, gameplay bug fixes and The Grounds. The publisher said the update is aimed at immediate fixes rather than tuning, while another set of Gameplay Developer Notes is due later this week.

Career mode adds new settings and Rivalry objectives

Career mode gets the broadest set of changes in v1.1. EA Sports said it has overhauled the Team Management layout across multiple modes to make navigation cleaner and the screen easier to read after feedback on the current UI.

Players will also get more control over how their save plays out. New settings now let them toggle or adjust the frequency of Unexpected Events and Press Conferences, and those options can be changed during Career Creation or in existing Career saves.

Player Career is gaining two new Rivalry Objective types:

  • Consistency Rivalries: avoid being the first to fail an Objective
  • Match Limit Rivalries: complete Objectives within a specific time limit

Manager Career is seeing transfer and contract changes too. EA Sports said negotiation responses now explain more clearly why a club or player rejected an offer. Wages have been tuned so performance bonuses do not push players into demanding inflated base pay, while contracts have been adjusted so veteran players no longer disproportionately ask for crucial squad roles.

Several general Career fixes are included as well. Background contrast for green, grey and red stat values in the Player Profile has been improved, PlayStyles are now properly revealed for Youth Academy prospects discovered during Scouting Missions, and scout capacity calculations have been corrected so the maximum number of simultaneously scouted players is now based on Experience rather than Judgement. Promoting a prospect from the Youth Squad Hub now keeps the menu position instead of sending players straight back to the Squad Hub.

EA Sports also said it is investigating an issue where players sometimes request transfers because of a lack of playtime even when their expectations are being met. A fix is being tested for a later update.

FUT pack openings and SBC filters are being streamlined

Football Ultimate Team changes in v1.1 focus on quality of life. Based on feedback from the FC 27 Closed Beta, EA Sports has shortened the reveal animation sequence for most higher OVR items during pack openings. The company pointed players to a comparison video showing the updated timing.

Streamlined SBCs are also changing. Filter and sorting settings will now be remembered across Challenges for the duration of a play session, then reset only when the game is closed. That means players will not have to reapply the same search filters every time they move to a different SBC.

EA Sports has also fixed a few visual and customisation issues in FUT matches. Referee kit colours have been updated so they do not clash with either team’s kits, and two problems that could make a match use an opponent’s custom pitch line colour or goal net colour have been corrected when a player had not selected their own defaults.

Gameplay stays untouched on balance, but several bugs are fixed

Title Update v1.1 does not include any gameplay balance or tuning changes. EA Sports said that approach fits its early-update plan for FC 27, with broader gameplay adjustments being held back until more live data is reviewed.

The patch still fixes a handful of gameplay problems. EA Sports said it has resolved an issue that could leave players permanently stuck in the tutorial, a 2v2 bug where players could get trapped inside the goal net after slide tackle attempts near the goal line, and a 1v1 issue where goalkeepers would hold onto the ball too long after a pass request. The update also addresses a 3v3 Kickabouts bug that could send the ball into a player’s own goal during a long button press pass, plus a case where post-play cutscenes appeared too often instead of a standard replay.

Later this week, EA Sports plans to publish another set of Gameplay Developer Notes covering observations from the first month of live play in FC 27, along with possible changes for the next Title Update. The studio said those future changes are being shaped by player data, community feedback and testing with player representatives on the Design Council.

The Grounds and Clubs fixes land with future features still in the pipeline

The Grounds is also getting attention in v1.1, alongside Clubs-related fixes. EA Sports thanked players for hundreds of messages from recent Q&A sessions and said more features for The Grounds and Clubs are coming in a nearby future update, with details to be shared on @EASFCDIRECT and the official Discord closer to release.

This update fixes a Pro Camera rotation bug when the ball rolled past the byline, overlap between end-of-match UI and on-screen text after a Kickabout, and a post-match issue that could hide a player’s match rating if it was below 6.0. The “Player has left the activity” overlay has been made less disruptive, while stability issues and crashes affecting the Store, world loading and gameplay have also been addressed.

Other fixes target Clubs Live Events and tournament flow. EA Sports said it has prevented an issue where a team could occasionally have two goalkeepers active during Clubs Live Events, fixed a HUD problem that could affect party members if the leader left the matchmaking queue, restored access to the Objectives tab after viewing it in the Live Events lobby, corrected a match rating display bug for max-level Archetypes, and fixed a tournament bracket error that could show a team as the winner immediately after the semi-final.

The full patch notes for v1.1 are due on 27 October. EA Sports also pointed players to the EA SPORTS FC 27 Launch Feedback Update for more on its ongoing feedback process.

On an existing Career save, does turning down the Unexpected Events and Press Conferences actually make the calendar feel less chaotic, or does it just kill the little drama? Been on the same save for ages and I’m tempted to switch it off.

shortening pack reveals is nice but the real win would be making SBC menus not feel like a tax return
