Rematch Season 6 adds Contracts, new chat options and gameplay tweaks in 1.206.000
Sloclap has outlined Rematch Season 6, with patch 1.206.000 set for October 23, 2026. The update replaces the game’s old Player Level progression with a new Contracts system, adds more ways to communicate during matches, and makes a round of balance changes to goalkeeping, tackling and stamina.
Contracts replace Player Level
The biggest change in Season 6 is Contracts, a new progression track that replaces the old Player Level system. Sloclap says players will work through 10 unique contracts — from Baller to Icon — by playing online matches, earning experience points and levelling up each contract to its cap.
Each level-up before the cap grants Blocks. Once a contract is maxed, it stops awarding XP and Blocks until it is upgraded. To move on, players must hit the cap, meet the requirements and then choose Upgrade contract after selecting three badges.
The ladder runs in this order:
- Baller
- Rookie
- Amateur
- Semi-pro
- Wonder
- Pro
- Star
- Champion
- Hero
- Icon
Sloclap says the system starts with online play and expands into rewards and features as players progress. The Badges system unlocks at Rookie, Ranked matches open at Amateur, and the Badges synergy system arrives at Semi-pro.
Rewards increase as contracts rise, with the studio promising Beginner and Pro kits, celebrations, victory moods and player profile items on the road to Icon. Players who already spent time in the previous system also receive legacy rewards based on their old Player Level, with separate tiers for Player Level 1 to 99, 100 and above, and the Top 5000 highest Player Levels.
Anyone who reached Player Level 5 or higher before the rework will automatically be placed into the Amateur contract, which unlocks ranked play and grants rewards from the Baller, Rookie and Amateur tiers.
Sloclap also says the progression rework means Player Level is no longer displayed on the main header.
Quick Chat gets three categories
Communication is getting a larger update too. Quick Chat now sits in three categories — Compliments, Apologies and Tactical — with three options in each. The new lines include “Thanks!”, “Sorry!” and “Behind You!”, and Sloclap says the system works on both controller and keyboard with remapping in the options menu.
“If you really liked the previous version, you can switch back to it in the options menu.”
The studio has also added three End-of-match Coms for the Victory/Defeat screen: “GG!”, “Team up!” and “Thank you!”. Those remain available even if players switch back to the previous Quick Chat layout during matches.
Push-to-talk is now the default microphone mode for the season. Players can choose between Toggle mode and Push-to-talk mode in the options menu, with the feature mapped to D-Pad down on controller and 4 on keyboard.
“This will be the default mode starting this season.”
Sloclap adds that reverting to the older Quick Chat layout will overwrite that binding, so Push-to-talk may need to be remapped to another input.
Goalkeeping, tackling and stamina are all adjusted
Season 6 also makes a set of targeted gameplay changes. Goalkeeper invulnerability after a catch has been reduced from 7 seconds to 4.5 seconds, which Sloclap says is meant to encourage faster clearances and limit stalling. The studio says it is keeping the current passback behaviour for now, while noting that more changes can come later.
Tackle Assist has had its width reduced by 36%. Sloclap says the goal is to make tackles feel fairer and leave more room for precision, while other solutions are being held back until Netcode 2.0 is ready.
Other gameplay adjustments include a cut to maximum volley height for outfield players from 2.85m to 2.80m, a 10% reduction to Defense Mode hitboxes, and a 10% reduction to sprinting stamina cost.
There is also a small set of quality-of-life updates: ball control now has new VFX, the player calling for the ball now looks at the teammate who has it, and several UI elements have been adjusted to reflect the new progression system.
Bug fixes and remaining issues
The patch notes list a long set of bug fixes. Among the major ones, Sloclap says it has addressed goalkeeper long dives with mouse and keyboard, tackle assist not working properly without directional input, sweeper and goalkeeper assignment after a reconnect, the Rainbow Flick triggering when a regular lobbed push ball was intended, and assists being removed in some pass sequences.
One fix changes assist crediting directly: if a goal is scored within 5 seconds of the scorer receiving a pass, an assist is now always awarded. The patch also covers several ball-collision and volley issues, including dash interactions, extra effort after volleys and dive recovery behaviour.
Some issues remain. Sloclap’s known-issues list still includes random crashes, several gameplay edge cases involving Defense Mode, dives and ball control, plus communication, match flow and Contracts & Badges problems such as the communication wheel being visible to spectators during celebrations, missing players in the pre-match corridor sequence, and UI text issues on the new progression screens.
The studio says Netcode 2.0 is currently being tested through the Rematch Beta Test on Steam, with more improvements on the way.

Does Contracts actually feel better than Player Level, or is it just more grind with a shinier name? I’m curious if the upgrade path is clear once you hit the cap and pick the three badges.
