EA SPORTS FC 27 title update 1.1.0 trims Ultimate Team bugs and career mode issues
EA SPORTS has released EA SPORTS FC 27 Title Update 1.1.0, and the publisher says it is live now with no gameplay balance or tuning changes. The patch is built around bug fixes across Ultimate Team, The Grounds and Career Mode, with several UI, menu and progression issues addressed.
Ultimate Team sees the biggest cleanup
Ultimate Team receives the largest share of fixes in the update. EA SPORTS says streamlined SBC filters will now save previously applied filters when completing multiple Streamlined SBCs in the same session, while the pack opening sequence has been shortened. The studio also fixed a long list of presentation and interaction problems, including cases where SBC Storage Player Items could still appear after being submitted, incorrect green highlighting when previewing Pathway Evolutions, and Holographic Player Items showing national flags incorrectly in gameplay.
Several visual and menu problems were also addressed. The FUT Badge icon could appear incorrectly on the scoreboard, the Time of Day setting was not saving properly from the Ultimate Team menu, and opponent Player Items could show incorrectly during the match intro with certain formations. EA SPORTS also fixed goal net colours not previewing correctly and not appearing in matches, along with issues where players could see their opponent’s ball, net colour and pitch line colour instead of their own selected items.
There are also fixes tied to SBCs, objectives and the Gallery. The patch addresses a case where players could get an error when accessing the Club tab from the Squad Screen after completing an SBC, a freeze when converting a Loan Player into a Concept Player, and several Gallery bugs involving rank display, grading animations, reward screens and menu focus. The Rank 1-200 Icon and Description could show incorrectly in the Squad Battles Preview screen, and the tradeable indicator was missing from packs in the Premium Season Pass.
Among the other Ultimate Team fixes are improved mouse input on PC, the restoration of the News section when entering Ultimate Team through the FC Hub, a correction for Pitch line colours set in Kick Off matches appearing in Squad Battles, and a fix for the Player Overview and Multi-Swap options disappearing after returning from the Evolutions menu via the Action Wheel.
The Grounds gets a broad set of fixes
The Grounds also receives a wide pass of bug fixes. EA SPORTS says it addressed instances of matches partially resetting after a player joined an ongoing match following a failed Hot Join, expired Live Events appearing in menus, and key bindings not being moddable on Keyboard Only on PC. Other fixes target queueing outside the intended area for Kickabouts and Street Football, incorrect Archetype Level display at the maximum level, and a visual error on the Post-Match Screen that could show a Match Rating of 0.
Menu, matchmaking and progression issues were a major theme here as well. EA SPORTS says it fixed players getting stuck in invalid matchmaking states if a party leader left while queued at a Rush pitch, players remaining stuck on a queue screen indefinitely after losing server connection, and an infinite loading screen when joining a Clubs lobby after declining cross-play. The update also addresses a case where players were not automatically returned to The Grounds world after completing an in-world Rush match.
The studio has also fixed several smaller but disruptive issues: VOIP channels being created for 1v1 modes, commentary overlapping in some world matches, the Objectives tab becoming unresponsive, and player names remaining visible during gameplay transitions in some modes. In mode-specific fixes, Street Football free kicks could be scored without aiming, Bucket Ball could trap players in pitch walls or let the ball pass through walls, and Bocce Ball had a scoring issue with newly spawned targets.
Career Mode adds new rivalry objectives and save settings
Career Mode gets both fixes and new features in this update. EA SPORTS has added two new objective types to Player Career Rivalries: Consistency Rivalries, described as avoiding being the first to fail an Objective, and Match Limit Rivalries, which require objectives to be completed within a specific time limit.
Manager Career receives the most structural changes. EA SPORTS says a new setting allows users to control whether Press Conferences are available in a save file, alongside two new settings that control the frequency of Press Conference interactions and Unexpected Events. These settings, plus the existing Unexpected Events setting, can now be edited during a save file rather than only during career creation.
The update also includes several fixes for long-running career issues. These include cases where managers could not renew contracts if transfer market activity was disabled during creation, Custom CPU AI Behavior slider values resetting to 50 after restarting the game, and situations where the manager could not personally negotiate further after delegating a contract renewal for a squad player. EA SPORTS also fixed issues involving icon players, youth player promotion flow, scouting status sorting, release clause tasks, and transfer negotiation text.
Visual and interface changes round out the Career Mode section. EA SPORTS says the Team Management UI has been updated for cleaner navigation and better readability, while fixture times could previously show different timezones across screens. The update also addresses a bug where older players could demand crucial roles in contract talks, along with another where managers were unable to offer new contracts to players in their own club after AI release clause offers arrived.
EA SPORTS says version 1.1.0 is available now, and the official notes point to a broad stability pass across the game rather than any balance changes on the pitch.
