EA SPORTS details Madden NFL 27 Ultimate Team Season 3 rewards and events

EA SPORTS has outlined Madden NFL 27 Ultimate Team Season 3, bringing a new run of autumn events, fresh player items and Field Pass rewards. The publisher said players can log in starting on 10/21 to claim their first Season 3 player, then head to the Evo Store for a Season 3 32 Team Chemistry Evo item.

The new season centres on three Ultimate Team programs: Autumn Classic, All Madden and Blitz. EA SPORTS said the lineup is meant to give players ways to celebrate the fall season, add faster players to their rosters and keep pushing toward postseason prep through events, Challenges and the Field Pass.

Autumn Classic starts Season 3 with login rewards and Kids vs. Dads

Autumn Classic leads off the seasonal content. EA SPORTS said players who log in during the event will receive a Welcome Pack containing two upgradeable player items.

More rewards come through Challenges and the Field Pass, including the chance to earn a special Turducken player by completing Sets. The event also brings back Kids vs. Dads game modes across both Events and Challenges, with more tokens and packs available through play.

The return of Kids vs. Dads gives Season 3 one of its more familiar throwbacks, while the login reward sets the tone for the rest of the program. EA SPORTS is using Autumn Classic as the first stop in the season’s reward path, with sets and challenge completions feeding directly into the event’s item pool.

All Madden adds John Madden, a coach item and Turkey Day Heroes

The All Madden program continues EA SPORTS’ yearly tribute to John Madden during one of his favourite times of year. The announcement includes a new John Madden (LT) player item and a Coach item that boosts the team during the event.

Players can also earn All Madden Turkey Day Hero Player items and more through the Field Pass. EA SPORTS did not break out every reward in the announcement, but the event sits alongside Autumn Classic as one of the main ways to build out a roster in Season 3.

That mix of player and coach items gives All Madden a different shape from the other programs. The focus is not only on adding a named card, but also on stacking event-specific boosts through progression.

Blitz returns with speed boosts and a new stat choice

Blitz is back as the speed-focused event of Season 3. EA SPORTS described it as a fan favourite built around some of the fastest players in the league, with Blitz player items getting a massive speed boost at the cost of other stats.

This year adds a new wrinkle: players can choose which stat to lower. EA SPORTS said new Challenges will drop in-game every day of the event and reward Blitz Boltz currency, which can then be spent in the Blitz Boltz store.

The store offers Fantasy Champ Packs containing 1 of 2 Blitz Champs and 1 of 3 All Madden Champs, plus basic Blitz packs that help Field Pass progress and other items. EA SPORTS also said players can work up the Field Pass using paid store offers to earn an LTD item for Bo Jackson.

Five 84 OVR player items are part of the Season 3 pool

EA SPORTS also highlighted the first group of Season 3 player items available in the Madden Ultimate Team pool. The announcement listed five cards, all rated 84 OVR:

  • Chad Johnson at wide receiver
  • Dalton Schultz at tight end
  • John Hannah at left guard
  • Divine Deablo at WILL linebacker
  • Julian Blackmon at strong safety

Those cards sit alongside the Field Pass reward path for Season 3, which EA SPORTS included as part of the announcement without laying out a separate end date. The season’s structure is built around Autumn Classic, All Madden and Blitz, with each event adding its own route to rewards and roster upgrades.

Only if you enjoy daily chores. Fast cards are fun until everybody has the same WR flying past my secondary.

Blitz can be useful if you build around it, but I never love these event cards when the speed boost comes at the cost of everything else. If the lowered stat is one you can hide in your scheme, then it is a cheap way to get a monster at one spot. If not, you end up with a card that feels busted in one play and useless the next. The daily Challenges part is nice though, because at least you are not waiting a week for content.

if you want speed, yeah, but it sounds like another coin sink. the stat choice thing is the only bit that makes it feel less copy-paste.

Kids vs Dads back again… does that mode actually play different or is it just the same stuff with a new sticker on top?

yeah fair, but if it is just a store thing i might leave it. does it at least help with the Field Pass?

nah, not unless you already planned on spending. LTDs in MUT usually just mean extra sweat for the same weekend league pain.

anyone know if that 32 team chemistry evo helps franchise rosters too, or just UT?

from what they wrote, it sounds UT-only. the Evo Store and Field Pass wording is all Ultimate Team stuff, so I wouldnt expect franchise to get much out of it unless EA slipped in a side reward. If you are asking for your online league, I’d ignore it and keep the roster updates manual. MUT always looks bigger on paper than it is for modes outside it.

Blitz is the only thing here that matters, the rest is filler for menu grinders.

nah i think the autumn stuff matters more than you’re giving it credit for. login rewards, the Welcome Pack, and the Turducken set path are the kind of stuff that helps casuals and grinders both, while Blitz is just the loud headline. If you only chase speed cards, you end up with a weird roster that gets cooked by any decent defense. The coach item and Turkey Day Heroes at least sound like they build toward a more complete team, even if the promo structure is still very MUT.

fair, but you know theyll still shove Blitz packs front and centre

not really. looks like the usual grind with different names on the cards

yeah but I was hoping the Fields Pass would be more than just another menu ladder. The Autumn Classic login pack and the Kids vs. Dads throwback sound fun on paper, even if it is still MUT stuff. I like when these promos give me something to do for a night without needing to sweat online. Maybe I’m just easy to please if there are actual challenges and not only store tabs.
