Forza Horizon 5 adds the 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS to the Festival Playlist

Playground Games has made the 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS available in Forza Horizon 5’s Spring Festival Playlist, with the car unlockable for 20 PTS until November 12. The same official announcement also lays out the rest of the week’s rewards, from a Halo-themed car horn to a spread of seasonal championships, PR stunts and playlist bonuses across the base game, Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure.

2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS sits at 20 PTS

The week’s headline reward is the 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which sits at the 20-point mark in the Spring rewards track. Playground Games says it is “your new best friend for track days,” and backs that up with figures that make it clear where the car is aimed: a 4-liter six-cylinder engine, 518 bhp, 342 lb-ft and a 0-60 mph run in almost 3 seconds.

The studio also says the project drew ideas from Formula 1, leading to 88 lbs of downforce as well as aerodynamic work on the body kit and adjustable wing. Lightweight materials run from front to back, which fits the car’s purpose: it is meant to be driven hard on circuits rather than treated as a showpiece.

The Spring reward track also includes a Backstage Pass at 40 PTS. Elsewhere on the wider Series Rewards track, players can pick up the 2017 Porsche #92 Porsche GT Team 911 RSR at 80 PTS and the 2009 Lotus 2-Eleven at 160 PTS.

Halo content returns through the Warthog Rally

One of the week’s themed events is Forza: Warthog Rally. Completing it in an M12S Warthog CST unlocks the Halo Theme Part 2 Car Horn, keeping the crossover reward tied directly to the event rather than a playlist tier.

Playground Games also points to Halo music on the in-game stations. According to the announcement, Horizon XS plays Halo Theme Gungnir Mix (feat. Steve Vai), while Radio Eterna carries Installation 04 and The Trials. The announcement frames these as part of the same Halo focus that runs through the Warthog event and its reward.

The rest of the weekly playlist

The seasonal lineup covers Forzathon, EventLab, The Trial, Playground Games, seasonal championships, PR stunts and the game’s other expansion playlists. The rewards range from cars to wheelspins and cosmetic items, with a few events asking for specific classes or models:

The #TheBigH Photo Challenge asks players to take a shot of any German car on a Horizon “H” decal at the Stadium Oval Track, with a Germany Cap for 2 PTS. Horizon Tour awards 8 PTS for completing a Tour, while Horizon Super7 gives a Super Wheelspin for finishing all seven Challenge Cards.

Recent playlist updates have also brought in other return rewards, including the 1996 Subaru SVX and the 1990 Aston Martin Lagonda, as Playground Games keeps rotating older cars and themed challenges through the playlist structure.

20 PTS for the 911 GT3 RS is basically Playground saying ‘do the chores first’. Bit funny calling it your new best friend when the whole setup screams track weapon, not Sunday cruise.

i had a 911 in a seasonal championship last month and it was proper annoying at first, then i stopped braking like i was in a hatchback and it made sense. if this RS sits that low in the playlist then i’m guessing it’ll be the usual ‘looks easy, punishes lazy inputs’ type of car. the 0-60 in almost 3 seconds bit is doing a lot of work there too.
